Johanne has been involved in the sewing industry for the last 29 years. She started as a pattern maker/designer at a local jean company. In 1986 Johanne founded Creation Unique, a couture studio that custom made evening and bridal wear. The store evolved to sewing custom skating, dancing and gymnast costumes. Johanne has always loved to sew and since 1979 has shared her knowledge in sewing classes. She was introduced to the art of making bras 15 years ago and immediately started to share the knowledge with her students. Johanne became a certified “Beverly Johnson bra teacher” in 2005 and can now offer a superior fitting bra.
Lutterloh Pattern System Pant
MAKE YOUR PATTERNS IN MINUTES!! Choosing and making your own patterns is the ideal way to create your individual style and achieve consistently proper fitting garments. The Lutterloh Pattern System is the perfect solution for todays busy sewer. Join Johanne and make the pattern of a basic pant using your Lutterloh Pattern System. If time allows, a muslin will be made and fitted. Sewing techniques will be demonstrated.

MAKE YOUR PATTERNS IN MINUTES!! Johanne will demonstrate how to make only 2 measurements fashionable fitting patterns, a vest and pant using the very easy German System ‘The Golden Rule by Lutterloh’. Discussed will be European cut versus American, and the buttonhole theory.

Bra-Making II
In this advanced bra-making workshop, we will start by sewing a partial band bra, learn ways to improve and vary the look of the basic bra without changing any of the basic style lines or the fits. You’ll make designer touches using exciting fabric and lace combinations.

Industrial Sewing Techniques

Fashion Apron
A new arrival in our store!!! Be one of the first to make this unique and fashionable apron for yourself or a friend. The apron pattern comes on a panel that is pre-printed and all you have to do is cut it out and sew it. This instructions are also printed on the panel. In the class you can do most of it on a serger and then finish on the sewing machine. Bring your serger or use ours and we will supply the sewing machines.

Helping Hands
We need left over fabric of all types and volunteers to help us sew articles for women and children in need. We will meet every 2 weeks and everyone is welcome. Space is limited, so if you're interested please sign up ASAP. Clara will be there to assist you, but basic sewing skills are required.

Sausage Roll Pillowcase

Sewing With Clara (For Teens & Adults)
This class is for the beginner sewer and for those who would like to brush up or learn new sewing skills. Beginners will make elastic waist pajama bottoms, capris or shorts and the more experienced sewer will make a project of their own choice. The beginner students will learn how to read a commercial pattern, lay out the pattern on fabric, general fitting information, simple seam finishes, construction and more.
